Fair Play

Server Rules

Solo only • 2x gather • Monthly wipes. These rules are designed to keep Ember Rust competitive, fair, and enjoyable. Players are responsible for knowing and following all server rules. Attempting to exploit loopholes or technically avoid a rule while violating its intent may still result in punishment.

1.Solo / Teaming Rules

  1. 1.1

Ember Rust is a SOLO ONLY server. You may not play as a team with another player.

  2. 1.2

Only one player may be authorized on a base Tool Cupboard (TC), Code Locks, Auto Turrets, or other authorization-based defenses.

  3. 1.3

Players may not share bases, compounds, raid bases, bunkers, loot rooms, external TCs, or other player-built structures.

  4. 1.4

Sharing door codes, guest codes, base access, sleeping bags, beds, or other forms of access with another active player is prohibited.

  5. 1.5

Temporary cooperation intended to give either player an advantage may be considered teaming.

  6. 1.6

Circumstances involving abandoned or actively raided bases may be reviewed separately by staff.

2.Alliances & Friendly Players

  1. 2.1

Formal or informal alliances between players are prohibited.

  2. 2.2

Players may not establish agreements to protect each other, avoid raiding each other, defend each other's bases, or work together against other players.

  3. 2.3

Repeatedly ignoring the same player during PvP situations may be investigated as teaming.

  4. 2.4

Players may not intentionally protect another player's loot, body, base, raid, or farming area.

  5. 2.5

Players may not coordinate attacks against another player.

  6. 2.6

Players may not act as scouts, lookouts, bait, transportation, storage, or backup for another player.

  7. 2.7

Neighboring players must remain independent. Building near another player does not give either player permission to cooperate.

  8. 2.8

Player-made villages or multiple bases intentionally built together for mutual protection are prohibited.

3.PvP & Monuments

  1. 3.1

Monuments, Oil Rig, Cargo Ship, Excavator, Quarries, and other contested areas should be treated as PvP zones.

  2. 3.2

Players may not intentionally cooperate during monument fights.

  3. 3.3

Players may not intentionally allow another player to loot a monument, crate, body, or event reward as part of an agreement.

  4. 3.4

If multiple solo players are fighting in the same area, each player must continue acting independently.

  5. 3.5

Coordinating attacks, sharing information, or intentionally allowing another player to gain an advantage during PvP may be considered teaming.

  6. 3.6

Repeated suspicious encounters between the same players may be reviewed by staff.

4.Trading

  1. 4.1

Legitimate trading between solo players is allowed through approved server trading systems or designated safe zones.

  2. 4.2

Trades must involve a reasonable exchange of value.

  3. 4.3

Trading may not be used as a loophole to transfer large amounts of resources, weapons, explosives, components, or other valuable items to another player.

  4. 4.4

Giving another player free loot is prohibited.

  5. 4.5

Intentionally dropping loot for another player to collect is considered item sharing and may be treated as teaming.

  6. 4.6

Players may not trade resources in exchange for PvP assistance, farming, raiding, scouting, protection, base defense, or other cooperative services.

  7. 4.7

Agreements such as “I won't raid you if you don't raid me” are considered alliances and are prohibited.

  8. 4.8

Staff may investigate suspicious or heavily one-sided trades.

5.Base Rules

  1. 5.1

Bases must belong to and be controlled by a single player.

  2. 5.2

Another active player may not have authorized access to your base.

  3. 5.3

You may not build connected or intentionally coordinated bases with another player.

  4. 5.4

Bases may not be designed to provide mutual protection for multiple solo players.

  5. 5.5

You may not intentionally give your completed base to a specific player.

  6. 5.6

If abandoning your base, you may remove your bags/authorization and publicly announce that the base is available. You may not secretly coordinate with a specific player to take ownership.

  7. 5.7

Having another player waiting nearby to claim your abandoned base or loot may be considered teaming.

  8. 5.8

Raid bases and temporary FOBs are allowed when being used independently by a solo player.

6.Raiding

  1. 6.1

All raids must be performed independently.

  2. 6.2

Two or more players may not coordinate separate attacks against the same base for the purpose of helping each other.

  3. 6.3

You may not provide another player with explosives, weapons, ammunition, raid information, or supplies specifically to help them raid someone.

  4. 6.4

Players may counter-raid, but all players involved must remain independent.

  5. 6.5

You may not intentionally protect another player's raid.

  6. 6.6

You may not return explosives, weapons, or other raid loot to a player you killed.

  7. 6.7

Raid agreements, paid raids, revenge contracts, and coordinated targeting may be considered teaming.

Quarries and Excavator are contested PvP areas.

  2. 7.2

Players using these areas must remain independent.

Players may not share quarry bases, Tool Cupboards, turrets, resources, fuel, or defenses.

  4. 7.4

Players may not create agreements allowing each other to peacefully rotate or share control of a quarry.

  5. 7.5

Multiple players intentionally protecting the same quarry or Excavator operation will be considered teaming.

8.Chat & Player Conduct

  1. 8.1

Hate speech and discriminatory attacks based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability are prohibited. This covers usernames, signs, drawings, voice chat, and text chat, and may result in an immediate ban.

  2. 8.2

Targeted harassment and real-world threats are prohibited. Trash talk is fine — competitive Rust behavior is expected. Sustained targeting of a specific player is not.

  3. 8.3

Do not reveal or threaten to reveal another player's private or identifying information.

  4. 8.4

Sexually explicit or deliberately disruptive content may be removed at staff discretion.

  2. 9.2

Exploiting unintended game mechanics or server/plugin bugs to gain an unfair advantage is prohibited.

  3. 9.3

Do not knowingly abuse duplication glitches or economy exploits.

  4. 9.4

Players who discover a serious exploit should report it privately to staff instead of demonstrating or distributing it.

Assisting, knowingly benefiting from, or knowingly playing alongside a cheater may result in punishment.

  6. 9.6

Ban evasion using alternate accounts is prohibited.

10.Staff & Administration

  1. 10.1

Staff decisions must be respected while playing on the server.

  2. 10.2

Do not argue moderation cases excessively in global chat. Use the appropriate ticket or appeal system.

  3. 10.3

Lying to staff, intentionally hiding evidence, or providing fabricated evidence during an investigation may result in additional punishment.

  4. 10.4

Harassing staff because of a moderation decision is prohibited.

  5. 10.5

Staff may investigate suspicious player activity, trades, bases, combat interactions, authorization history, or other activity when enforcing server rules.

  6. 10.6

Attempting to find loopholes in the wording of these rules does not make otherwise obvious teaming, cheating, or exploitation acceptable.
