Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service govern your access to EMBER Rust's website, Rust game servers, Discord community, ticket system, account-linking features, leaderboards, store, memberships, kits, and related services. By using an EMBER Rust service, signing in through Steam, linking Discord, joining an EMBER Rust server, submitting a ticket, or making a purchase, you agree to these Terms and the current EMBER Rust server rules. If you do not agree, do not use the services.

Eligibility and accounts

You must meet the minimum age and account requirements imposed by Steam, Discord, and applicable law. Some features require authentication through Steam or a connected Discord account.

  • Use only accounts that belong to you.
  • Maintain the security of your Steam and Discord accounts.
  • Provide accurate information and do not impersonate another player or staff member.
  • Do not transfer, sell, share, or misuse an authenticated identity.
  • Report suspected unauthorized account use promptly.
  • EMBER Rust does not receive or store your Steam or Discord password. Authentication takes place through those providers.

Community and server rules

You must follow all published EMBER Rust rules. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • Cheating, scripting, exploiting, ban evasion, or unauthorized modification.
  • Teaming or account sharing where prohibited by server rules.
  • Harassment, threats, hate speech, doxxing, or abusive behavior.
  • Interfering with the website, server, bots, APIs, plugins, or infrastructure.
  • Attempting to access accounts or administrative systems without authorization.
  • Submitting false, fraudulent, or intentionally misleading reports.
  • Abusing purchases, refunds, promotions, kits, votes, or account-linking systems.
  • Rules may be updated as the server develops. The currently published rules control when they conflict with an older announcement or description.

Enforcement

EMBER Rust may investigate suspected violations and may warn, mute, kick, suspend, restrict, or permanently ban users when reasonably necessary to protect the community or services. Enforcement decisions may consider server logs, anti-cheat information, gameplay records, submitted evidence, account associations, staff observations, and other relevant information. Severe violations may result in immediate action without prior warning. Players may request review through the EMBER Rust ticket system.

Tickets and evidence

The ticket system may be used for player reports, ban appeals, purchase issues, technical support, and other supported categories. When submitting a ticket, you agree that the information is truthful to the best of your knowledge, you have permission to provide any uploaded material, evidence does not contain malware or unlawful content, relevant EMBER Rust staff may review the ticket and evidence, and frivolous, abusive, duplicate, or fraudulent tickets may be closed.

  • Ticket responses are not guaranteed within a specific time.
  • Evidence links may expire, so users should retain their own copies of important material.

Purchases, memberships, and digital benefits

Store purchases may provide digital benefits such as memberships, queue priority, kits, cosmetics, permissions, or other in-game features. Unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • Digital benefits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.
  • Benefits apply only to the account and server identified at purchase and may not be resold or transferred.
  • Server wipes may reset items, cooldowns, progression, or gameplay data.
  • A purchase does not exempt a player from rules or moderation.
  • A rule-based ban or restriction may cause loss of access to purchased benefits.
  • Prices, contents, cooldowns, availability, and descriptions may change prospectively.
  • Refund eligibility is determined by the policy displayed at checkout, applicable law, and the payment provider's rules.
  • Fraudulent payments, unauthorized chargebacks, or payment abuse may result in suspension while investigated.

Kits, promotions, and voting

Eligibility for Discord kits, promotional kits, map voting, and similar features may require a verified Steam identity, a linked Discord account, current membership in the EMBER Discord, or other displayed conditions. Eligibility may be rechecked periodically. Unlinking an account, leaving the Discord, receiving a staff restriction, or failing an eligibility check may remove access. Cooldowns, wipe blocks, redemption limits, contents, and availability are controlled by the current in-game or website configuration.

Leaderboards and gameplay statistics

By playing on an EMBER Rust server, you acknowledge that gameplay statistics may be collected and displayed publicly. These may include Steam display name, SteamID64, public Steam avatar, kills/deaths/headshots/weapon details/distance/event time, playtime, resource gathering, explosives used, items placed, rankings, and wipe history.

  • Leaderboards are informational and may contain delays, omissions, or inaccuracies caused by server events, plugin updates, disconnects, or technical limitations.
  • Aggregated heatmaps may show delayed activity by general map area and are not intended to expose live player locations.

User content

User Content includes ticket descriptions, uploaded evidence, messages, display names, and other material you submit. You retain ownership of your User Content and grant EMBER Rust a limited license to store, reproduce, review, and display it as reasonably necessary to operate the services, investigate reports, enforce rules, provide support, and satisfy legal obligations. Do not submit content that violates another person's privacy, intellectual-property rights, or applicable law.

Third-party services

EMBER Rust uses or interacts with third-party services such as Steam, Discord, hosting providers, payment processors, map services, and anti-cheat services. Your use of those services is also governed by their terms and policies. EMBER Rust does not control third-party outages, account restrictions, security practices, or service changes.

  • EMBER Rust is an independent community and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Facepunch Studios, Valve, Steam, or Discord.

Availability, wipes, and changes

The services are provided on an availability basis. EMBER Rust does not guarantee uninterrupted access, a particular player count, permanent preservation of gameplay data, or continued availability of any feature. Maintenance, updates, attacks, provider outages, game updates, plugin failures, emergency wipes, and other events may interrupt service or cause data loss. EMBER Rust may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary.

Disclaimer

The services are provided 'as is' and 'as available.' To the extent permitted by law, EMBER Rust disclaims warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free data, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot legally be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, EMBER Rust will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the services, including lost gameplay progress, lost virtual items, account restrictions, service interruption, or third-party actions. Where liability cannot be excluded, EMBER Rust's total liability will be limited to the amount you paid directly to EMBER Rust during the six months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not permit certain limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

Termination

You may stop using EMBER Rust at any time. EMBER Rust may suspend or terminate access when you violate these Terms or server rules, create a security risk, abuse the services, or when continued access would expose EMBER Rust or others to harm or legal liability. Sections that logically survive termination, including provisions concerning payments, user content, disclaimers, and liability, will remain effective.

Changes to these terms

These Terms may be updated to reflect new features, rules, legal requirements, or operational changes. The revised date will be shown at the top of this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. Material changes may also be announced on the website or EMBER Discord.

Contact and support
